
Recurring Heatwaves Outside. Continuous Process Heat Inside.
Since mid-June 2026, France has experienced three separate nationwide heatwave periods:
14 days in June + 16 days in July + 22 days from late July into August
= 52 cumulative heatwave days
This does not mean France remained under uninterrupted heatwave conditions for 52 consecutive days. The figure represents the combined duration of three separate heatwave episodes, with short periods of relief between them.
For petrochemical heaters, boilers, steel mills, glass plants, cement facilities and other high-temperature operations, however, process-generated heat continues even when outdoor temperatures temporarily ease.
The real thermal challenge extends beyond the weather forecast:
Ambient Heat + Process Heat + Luminaire-Generated Heat
= Actual Operating Thermal Load
When lighting equipment operates for extended periods beyond its rated ambient-temperature range, light output, electronic component life and overall operational reliability may be affected.
